Photography training, lesson: to tell a story through images...

Story telling – from words to images. Group exercise to train the participants to think into images

A short story was told to the participants. They were invited to visualize the story and identify the images that describe the action.  After the images were establish in a common agreement, they identified the characters, decor, props that contribute in the story. After everyone agreed on the particular images that could retell the story, they took the photos in the narrative order, each participant choosing one image. The images were viewed together on the projector, commented so that the ladies choose only the ones that gave sense to the story. After they agreed on the final images, a person that didn't know the story was invited to watch and comment so that the ladies could hear the feed-back and decide by themselves if indeed a story can be told in images, the success of their work and what, why and how they would change certain elements or images in order for the story to be understood exactly how it is.
